How do i convince my wife to let me buy a motorcycle?

I'm talking about a fixer upper $800 max...I don't want to surprise her with it...but i might have to...shes even gone far enough to say she'll divorce me if i buy one...shes insane! what do i do, I'm a biker at heart!...she also says shes afraid i might die...but if she cared for me she wouldn't divorce me for something so small. HELP!!!

Here they have an ad campaign from the Traffic Accident Commission - a government body, which states that you are #35# TIMES more likely to be seriously injured or killed as a motorbike rider as opposed to being in a car accident.that's because there's NOTHING between you, the road, and other road users. I wouldn't want my hubby taking those odds.
If you are going to be as safe as possible it means you need a full face motorcycle helmet, padded leather safety jacket, padded leather rider's pants, and knee high Motorcycle boots. Otherwise you risk becoming a squidge - that's what other riders call the mark left on the bitumen by an unprotected rider's flesh. And all that adds considerably to the cost. Thousands even.
Also you are exposed to all the elements - rain, hail, sleet, burning sun, traffic, pollution, etc. Or do you plan only to be a fair weather rider? Then what are you doing about alternative transport? And running two motor vehicles means double the registration, double the insurance, double the taxes, etc.
Its also not the most comfortable thing for the pillion passenger either. And no dressing up either. The helmet ruins hairstyles, and the wind ruins the makeup. No room for shopping, or most anything else either.
that's a lot to think about, when otherwise all you see is the "image" of a carefree rider, isn't it?
