Why did my Air Conditioner suddenly stop working?
It is a huge whirlpool window unit... it's called Multi-Room so I think it has a high number of BTU, but i am not sure of the exact number... probably 25,000 if that sounds right? ... well anyway, it's only a few years old (maybe 3 or 4) and has always been in Great Condition... then today it stopped working... it comes on the temperature guage was set to 71 and still not blowing any cool air... I turned it off and back on again and it "tried" to come up but just rattled and then stopped running again... no air coming out... I even tried to unplug, wait 5 minutes, and plug in again... nothing... I even tried putting it on the other settings, power saver, and fan only... no air coming out. What could be the matter with it???
check the filter in it, I bet it needs cleaned. Once you clean that, put it back in, it should run. Alot of times they do that, they Shut Off because the filter needs cleaned, usually a light comes on tellnig you when to clean them off.
