Tubing Cutter

Cherry Bomb muffler installation question?
I have a 00 Crown vic , dual exhaust. I will put cherry bombs on the car(the red tube ones)Im doing it tommor morning myslef. I can rent the cutter from autzone right and cut the pipe off. My questions are:
1. do i have to weld them on cuz they are steel mufflers?
or can i clamp it. Will exhaust gas escape if its clamped?
2. What else can I do to make the car loud, but street legal.
3 .Do i need to by adapters for the muffler to fit or can it just be automatically welded with no prob.I think i have a 2 1/4 exhaust already. Anyone know?
Thanks alot
please be specific on this process step by step
if the muffler fits snug onto the pipes then clamping is fine, if its a little loose then you may want to weld it.
i think that on the crown vic dual system its either 2 1/4 inch in the muffler and 2 inch out, or 2 inch in and out. the guys at the parts store should be able to tell you that.
good luck
